Turpan is one of the cradles of Uyghur people. It is located to the southeast of Urumqi, the capital city of Xinjiang Uyhgur Autonomous Region, covers an area of 70049 square kilometers (6,076.5 square miles). Population is about 600,000, Uyghurs make up over 70% of the total number. Turpan is an important oasis city along the ancient Silk Road and one of the ancient trade centers.

Urumqi - Turpan, 185km, 2.5hours

We start the tour from Urumqi since Urumqi is the most convenient place for transportation, after breakfast we travel to Turpan. On the way we can see the biggest wind power station in China Dabancheng wind power station, Salt lake - dead sea of China, people can lift in the water, after arrive in Turpan we visit Sultan Minaret and then go to the lunch, after noon we continue our tour to Jiaohe(yarghol) ruined city, witch is the best preserved ruined city in China was made 2300years ago, Karez underground irrigation system, have been serving Turpan area since 2000years ago. Go back to Urumqi and end the tour.
